Description:

This shapefile identifies water lines, maintained by the City of Puyallup's Water Division, that have temporary development restrictions or residential fire flow deficiencies. Development restrictions are imposed on water lines that are incapable of handling additional water services because the facilities in these areas do not meet the City's standards for flow and/or pressure. These lines fall within an area known as the Temporary Water Service Moratorium Areas (WSMA). These areas are outlined under the Service Area Policies in the April 2011 Comprehensive Water System Plan adopted by Ordinance #3000 effective February 20, 2012.

Residential Fire Flow Deficiency locations are identified as areas that typically do not meet the residential fire flow requirements because the water mains in the area of the fire flow are undersized (6 inch or less). Fire flow deficiency areas were identified in 2008 and were included in the May 2004 Comprehensive Water System Plan. The water lines/locations are identified as having temporary restrictions because in time as funding allows these areas will be upgraded to meet City standards.
