<idAbs>This line feature class shows channels that are used to carry water directly to another area. This data is part of the GPS Drainage Project being conducted by Puyallup Public Works Dept, and the Pierce County GIS Dept. The project utilizes GPS technology to collect data of the City's drainage infrastructure. The drainage project collected drainage features in Puyallup that were either public, private and commercial. Some features could not be collected due to private gates and were not included.</idAbs>
<idPurp>The Drainage Project's purpose is to identify drainage features maintained by the City of Puyallup. It is to be used for ESA support, as well as for feature maintenance and spatial analysis of drainage data.</idPurp>

<suppInfo>Procedures_Used The GPS features were collected using TrimblePro XR or GEO XH GPS units (mapping grade sub-meter), Trimble TSC 1 data collector with Asset Surveyor, Laser Technology's Laser Range Finder, and Laser Technology's Mapstar Digital Compass. The GPS configurations were: PDOP mask 6.0 and SV Mask (4 minimum). Field crews consisted of a Note Taker, GPS Data Collector, and a Drainage Researcher. Collected feature data was post processed using Trimble Pathfinder Office 2.11 or later software (*.ssf files converted into *.cor files). Differentially corrected files were then converted into Arc/Info coverage format. Arc/Edit was used to do QC (quality control), snap line features to point features, ensure proper flow direction of drainage system (flip arcs), examine features attributes, and check for positional accuracy. Note: New data is being collected currently and will be added periodically. Revisions As new data is collected. Reviews_Applied_to_Data The drainage feature data was given a quality control check biweekly. Arc/Edit was using to check feature attribution and positional accuracy. Positional accuracy was checked using digital orthophotos, scanned comprehensive drainage maps, and planimetrics. Whenever possible QC was done by the personnel who originally collected the drainage features. The Note Takers notes were used to help make QC decisions. Related_Spatial_and_Tabular_Data_Sets None References_Cited Orthophotos of Pierce County flown August 2008. Planimetrics from Orthophotos of Pierce County flown August 2008.
