Data was created using a September 2015 street tree survey, conducted by the City's Senior Planner who is also a ISA Certified Arborist. Tree points were hand drawn onto reference maps along with field notes collected and later hand digitized in ArcGIS.

This vector [point] feature class was created to establish a systematic numbering system for the City of Puyallup to use in tracking all city maintained street trees. This inventory is meant to aid staff in communicating maintenance issues, safety concerns, new planting projects and tree removals.

This data shows the approximate location of street trees maintained by the City of Puyallup and is meant to provide a comprehensive inventory for city staff to use for planning and maintenance purposes. Data was collected during a field survey, conducted by the City's Senior Planner who is also an ISA Certified Arborist on September 14th, 2015.
Chris Beale, Senior Planner and ISA Certified Arborist conducted a field survey to provide a baseline assessment of street trees maintained by the city. This survey involved marking tree points on paper reference maps and establishing tree identification numbers. Additional field notes provided specific information on tree species, size (diameter) at time of survey, current condition and maintenance needs (evaluated by city arborist) and additional notes used to identify immediate hazards or concerns. Information collected during the survey was later compiled into tables and joined with digitized points to create this feature class.
