The book consists of copies of Pierce Countys 1994-quarter section maps on which city limits, urban growth area boundary, zoning, zoning overlay, and future land use and future land use overlays are laid. Ordinance numbers/dates for comprehensive plan future land use and zoning changes are also shown. This map book was updated until July 2003 when a new GIS based map book was created based upon themes maintained in GIS. This theme and all themes used in the new official map book are tax parcel (shifted) based.</suppInfo>

<statement>During the 2015 update cycle a 'scribner's' error was detected and corrected. It is located within the UGA in 04202601. This error carried over from 2009 until corrected in December 2015. </statement>
<prcStep>
<stepDesc>This information was originally kept in AutoCAD format. It was transfered to shapefile format in a polygon theme then later to parcel based. Shapefile is shifted parcel-based and edited manually as changes occur. Once a year shortly after Comprehensive Plan Future Land Use map amendments are adopted, those changes are made to this shapefile. About mid-year as time allows, tax parcels are captured and joined to the existing land use attribute table. New parcels created either by lot line adjustments or platting activity are captured and added to the database.
During the 2015 this dataset was converted to a feature class within a file geodatabase. </stepDesc>
