<abstract>This shapefile consists of the Zoning Overlay designations within the City of Puyallup.</abstract>
<purpose>This dataset is to be used with City of Puyallup Zoning. It is to be used to determine the extent of Zoning Overlay influences on parcels within the city.</purpose>
<supplinf>The datasets were originally created from the City Of Puyallup's Official Comprehensive Plan Future Land Use and Zoning Map book. The book consists of copies of Pierce County's 1994-quarter section maps on which city limits, urban growth area boundary, zoning, zoning overlay, and future land use and future land use overlays are laid. Ordinance numbers/dates for comprehensive plan and zoning changes are also shown. This map book is no longer updated. In June 2003 a GIS based map book was designated as the Official Zoning and Comprehensive Plan Map book. The ATR's shifted digital tax parcel data was used as a background coverage. The agricultural overlay was Digitized from the 1994 Comprehensive Plan Future Land Use and Zoning Map book. The polygons were shifted after the shifted tax parcel theme became available. The floodplain overlay was derived from the Pierce County GIS theme Flood Hazard Areas (FEMA). Geoprocessing was used to clip this theme to the city's limits and then incorporated into the zoning overlay theme. During the March 2007 updating process, this theme was snapped to Land Layer - All, Tax parcels, and City of Puyallup City Limits shapefiles where appropriate to complete the shifting process. Previously omitted flood plain overlays were added.</supplinf>

The Requestor shall have no remedy by law or equity against the City Of Puyallup in case the data provided is inaccurate, incomplete or otherwise defective in any way. 5. Requester's Warranty Against Commercial Use of Lists. RCW 42.17.260(9) prohibits the release of list of individuals requested for commercial purposes, and Requester expressly represents that no such use of any such list will be made by Requester or its transferee)s) or vender(s). 'Commercial purposes' means contacting or in some way personally affecting the individuals identified on the list with the purpose of facilitating one's commercial activities. 6. Secondary Data Dissemination. Requesters may not secondarily disseminate (give City Of Puyallup data to other entities) without prior written permission from the City Of Puyallup. 7. Project Data. <suppInfo>The datasets were originally created from the City Of Puyallup's Official Comprehensive Plan Future Land Use and Zoning Map book. The book consists of copies of Pierce County's 1994-quarter section maps on which city limits, urban growth area boundary, zoning, zoning overlay, and future land use and future land use overlays are laid. Ordinance numbers/dates for comprehensive plan and zoning changes are also shown. This map book is no longer updated. In June 2003 a GIS based map book was designated as the Official Zoning and Comprehensive Plan Map book. The ATR's shifted digital tax parcel data was used as a background coverage. The agricultural overlay was Digitized from the 1994 Comprehensive Plan Future Land Use and Zoning Map book. The polygons were shifted after the shifted tax parcel theme became available. The floodplain overlay was derived from the Pierce County GIS theme Flood Hazard Areas (FEMA). Geoprocessing was used to clip this theme to the city's limits and then incorporated into the zoning overlay theme. During the March 2007 updating process, this theme was snapped to Land Layer - All, Tax parcels, and City of Puyallup City Limits shapefiles where appropriate to complete the shifting process. Previously omitted flood plain overlays were added.</suppInfo>

Previously omitted flood plain overlays were added. The Fair Parking and Shaw-Pioneer Overlays were snapped to parcel lines where appropriate and/or were drawn to the centerline of the road. Only the parcel is influenced by the overlay, not the Right-of-Way. The Mixed Use Design Review Overlay was snapped to parcel lines where appropriate and omitted roads where possible. When not possible as in the case of parcels across roads, the roads were included. Only the parcel is influenced by the overlay, not the Right-of-Way. March 2017 the City of Puyallup adopted new Floodplain maps and regulations. Because Floodplains were addressed and regulated elsewhere in PMC the Planning Division working with the Planning Commission and City Council elected to have the Floodplain removed from the Zoning Overlay data in December 2017. The River Road Design Review Overlay was renamed to the MX-DRO at the same. The Agricultural Overlay was reviewed and redrawn based upon agricultural uses and not areas that were historically thought of as potential agricultural uses. This change came about in December 2017 as well. </stepDesc>
