Paraphrased from Settlement Agreement executed January 18, 1996: The boundaries of the sanitary sewer service areas for the Puyallup River Basin has been subsequently revised by Pierce County Resolution NOs. 19953, 21528, and Ordinance No. 82-36, 86-61, 86-62, 89-12S, 84-146 and 89-11S. Joint Service Areas (JSA) are first right refusal areas. JSAs were established in an agreement between the City of Puyallup and Pierce County subsequent to the 1995 Basin Plan Amendment. JSAs are adjacent to the South Hill UGA subarea. The agreement outlines how each agency will be the primary provider of sanitary sewer to each of the JSAs. The following documentation was used to create and later amend this data:

No City of Puyallup Liability City of Puyallup shall not be liable to the Requestor (or transferees or venders or Requestor) for damages of any kind, including lost profits, lost savings or any other incidental of consequential damages relating to the providing of the data or the use of it. The Requestor shall have no remedy by law or equity against the City of Puyallup in the case the data provided is inaccurate, incomplete or otherwise defective in any way.
5. Requester's Warranty Against Commercial Use of Lists RCW 42.17.260 (9) prohibits the release of lists of individuals requested for commercial purposes, and Requestor expressly represents that no such use of any such list will be made by Requestor or its transferee)s) or vender (s). "Commercial Purposes" means contacting or in some way personally affecting the individuals identified on the list with the purpose of facilitating one's commercial activities.
6. Secondary Data Dissemination Requestors may not secondarily disseminate (give City of Puyallup data to other entities) without prior written permission from the City of Puyallup. 7. Project Data Requestors are encouraged to supply their project data back to the City of Puyallup for use by the City of Puyallup.

The JSAs and Sanitary Sewer Service Area files were originally kept in AutoCAD format. It is unknown when it was converted to shapefile format. It's positional accuracy can not be vouched for. For historical information regarding the formation of the boundary and the JSAs please refer to the Draft 2009 City of Puyallup Sanitary Sewer Comprehensive Plan.

The First Right of Refusal shapefile and Sanitary Sewer Service Area shapefiles were merged into a single shapefile. Original source data was an AutoCAD file recieved from City of Puyallup Development Engineering section. December 19, 2013 it was determined by the City's Engineer based upon noted supplimental information that the City's northern sanitary sewer service area was incorrect. It was subsequently revised by clipping that portion north of the City's limits away from the original data. January 28, 2014 it was determined that some of the source information (SSSA Agreement) was interpreted incorrectly. The Engineering Services Manager's interpretation was considered/accepted/and implemented therefore changing the southeastern boundary of the SSSA.
